Carmen Cuevas is currently a Senior Field Representative for State Assemblymember Jose Medina. Cuevas was born and raised in the Eastside neighborhood of Riverside to working class immigrants from Mexico. It was during her time as a student at Riverside Poly High School when she met, then Chicano Studies teacher and M.E.Ch.A. Club advisor, Jose Medina, that she gained a mentor who guided her towards the path of public service. The first in her family to attend college, she graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and began her career in public service working as a Field Representative for Assemblymember Jose Medina. She also completed a Certificate Program in Community Leadership at the University of LaVerne through the Inland Empire Hispanic Leadership Council.  Cuevas is proud of her roots and continues to support the local community by providing regular legislative updates, volunteering, and helping constituents resolve any state-related issues.
