Nuestra Navidad
Nuestra Navidad Breakfast has been a signature event for Latino Network. The event is held in an effort to raise funds to support LANET’s mission as a non-profit organization. The event is one of Latino Network’s major fundraisers of the year and it brings in over one hundred and fifty attendees.
The Nuestra Navidad Breakfast provides an exciting morning where attendees are greeted with a performance by the Centro De Niños students while enjoying a home-made Mexican breakfast followed by an exciting silent and live auction. The morning of the event LANET counts on the participation and attendance of community leaders and city dignitaries who support the goals of the organization.
Celebración de la Mujer/Celebración de la Comunidad
Latino Network has been hosting its Annual Celebración de la Mujer Awards Luncheon for almost 20 years. The event commemorates the contribution and accomplishments of Chicana/Latinas in the Inland Empire. Latino Network honored outstanding women who demonstrated the spirit of commitment to their communities in the areas of Culture & Tradition, Education, Senior/Elder contributions, Business, Youth, Health, and Public Safety. This past year, Latino Network decided to revamp our event and celebrate all community members. Next year will be our first Celebración de la Comunidad where we will celebrate individuals from our community that are advocating and inspiring others in their respected fields.
Latino Network Youth Leadership Programs
The Latino Network Youth Leadership Program includes 4 development program tracks that are designed to prepare high school Latino students for a future that will allow for economic and political parity through a college education. The objectives of the LNYLP include college preparation, financial empowerment, enhanced civic participation and the promotion of healthy living. Latino Network partners with Alvord Unified School District, Riverside Unified School District, The City of Riverside, and Hispanas Organized for Political Equality.
Cesar Chavez Breakfast
The Annual Cesar E. Chavez Memorial Breakfast has been a great source of pride for Latino Network. Last year Arturo Rodriguez, President of the United Farm Workers of America was the keynote speaker. As president of the UFW, Arturo S. Rodriguez is continuing to build the union Cesar Chavez founded into a powerful voice for farm workers by increasing its membership, pushing historic legislation on immigration reform and worker rights. Riverside is an agricultural community with historic ties to Cesar E. Chavez. Latino Network believes in honoring his work and plight annually with the breakfast and other community activities in hopes of carrying on his legacy.
