Sergio San Martin is currently the Assistant Superintendent, Operation Division for the Riverside Unified School District. The Operations Division includes the Planning & Development and Maintenance, Operations, & Transportation Departments. The Operations Division oversees a $650 million dollar Capital Facilities Program. With the passage of General Obligation Bond Measure “O” in 2016, the Operations Division oversees the District’s modernization, renovations, and new construction projects. Riverside Unified School District is the 16th largest district in California with 42,000 students, 50 schools, and an operating annual budget of $600 million.

Sergio has over 22 years in education in the area of Facilities & Development and has earned his Master’s Degree in Community Development, from California State Polytechnic University. He received his Certification of Educational Facilities Planning, from the University of California, Riverside.

Sergio’s background includes a wealth of knowledge with regards to school master planning & design, accounting, development, and geographical information systems. He is a member of the American Planning Association, Coalition for Adequate School Housing, and the Association of California School Administrators. Prior to his current position, he served as Director of Planning & Development at the Moreno Valley Unified School District, Santa Ana Unified School District, and Anaheim City School District.
